My application is for a baffle is hooked to a DeWalt 735 planer - which has a built-in sawdust extraction fan. After trying out a "cyclone" lid - which was a joke - I built a baffle for my 30 gallon collection bin. As expected, it works great!  ;D

A couple modifications were necessary: First, this uses 4" hose and fittings. Second, this configuration is downstream of the fan, so the container is pressurized. This requires that I secure the lid to the bin with bungee cords, plus I added some weatherstripping and clamps to seal the joint.

Just thought you might like to see another application of your idea.
