Title: 3 hp Powermatic 75
Post by: streetdoc on September 10, 2014, 09:45:16 AM
About to add baffles to this 4 bagger. I have 3/16 hardboard, 3/4 mdf, and 3/4 melamine on hand. Would the hardboard or 1/4 mdf be sufficient? Don't know if I need something more substantial. But would seem to me with 2 split between 3 hp should be no worse that 1 baffle on a 2 hp system. Is my logic flawed?

3/16" hard board sounds good to me.  :)

Another question, does the dowel mounting method contribute to stability of the baffle or in slowing the air stream down? Have seen some references to using L brackets instead of dowels.
