Title: Source for 5" PVC DC pipe and fittings
Post by: SteveNelson46 on August 13, 2014, 03:03:01 PM
Does anyone have or know of a good source for 5" PVC DC pipe and fittings? I have adapted a Harbor Freight DC to a Brute trash can using the Thien baffle and used 4" fittings but, I think I could get better performance with 5". The DC is actually collapsing the sides of the trash can with 4" fittings so I think it needs more ventilation.

5" may be an odd size for PVC. Not something you're going to find at Lowes or Home Depot.  The Brute can isn't very rigid. You could try adding a stiffening ring or vertical ribs around the outside of the can.

www.harrisonplastic.com is a source for plastic ducting. I have no experience with them and just googled 5" diameter PVC. Looks interesting but probably cost prohibitive.
